Suppression Design
Exterior sprinkler and vapor dome strategies are coordinated early with the home’s structure, envelope, water supply, and site conditions so fire-response systems are designed as part of the whole home.
Protect your home with exterior fire sprinkler and site-scale suppression strategies designed for high-risk wildfire conditions. tect integrates dedicated water supply, vapor dome suppression concepts, non-combustible assemblies, and coordinated design expertise to help homeowners reduce exposure, improve resilience, and build forward with systems understood from the earliest planning stages.

Integrated suppression, water supply, and resilience planning for homes in wildfire-exposed environments.
Exterior sprinkler and vapor dome strategies are coordinated early with the home’s structure, envelope, water supply, and site conditions so fire-response systems are designed as part of the whole home.
Dedicated on-site water supply planning supports fire-event response by aligning storage, delivery, pressure, and system performance with the property’s exterior suppression strategy.
tect connects exterior suppression with fire-resistive assemblies, non-combustible materials, and documentation strategies that can materially reduce risk for homeowners and insurance conversations.

We begin by reviewing wildfire exposure, topography, access, WUI considerations, and the home’s surrounding defensible space. For Pacific Palisades properties, hillside conditions and ember exposure often shape the suppression strategy.

AIA
Bob Habian, AIA, is a licensed architect and a driving force behind Tect's mission to deliver 100+ year homes built to perform across structure, systems, and envelope. Serving homeowners in Pacific Palisades and surrounding high-risk areas, Bob brings deep expertise in resilient design, system integration, and construction coordination. His work is rooted in a belief that homes should be permanent upgrades — engineered to withstand fire, flood, and earthquake exposure while minimizing long-term maintenance costs. Bob leads Tect's fully aligned approach, connecting clients with the TectApp community of 70+ building product manufacturers to ensure the right expertise is involved from concept through construction. His commitment is to homes that are not only durable and safe but built forward for generations to come.
The three common fire sprinkler system types are wet pipe, dry pipe, and pre-action systems. Wet pipe systems hold pressurized water in the lines for immediate discharge. Dry pipe systems use air or nitrogen until activation releases water. Pre-action systems require a detection event before water enters the piping, helping reduce accidental discharge in sensitive settings.
