Turnkey Delivery
Earth'smart™ Path A brings architecture, engineering, construction, manufacturer input, and permit coordination into one aligned team from concept through construction for a clearer, more reliable custom home path.
tect delivers integrated custom home building for Northern California homeowners who need more than conventional construction. From wildfire-prone WUI sites in the North Bay, Tahoe, and Sierra foothills to high-performance estates, our coordinated architecture, engineering, construction, and manufacturer network helps create resilient 100+ year homes built for fire, seismic exposure, comfort, long-term value, and local terrain.

Integrated custom building, rebuild, resilience, and performance services for Northern California’s most demanding residential sites.
Earth'smart™ Path A brings architecture, engineering, construction, manufacturer input, and permit coordination into one aligned team from concept through construction for a clearer, more reliable custom home path.
Wildfire-resistant custom homes are designed for WUI conditions with fire-resistive walls, Class A roofing, ember-resistant vents, defensible-space coordination, and integrated on-site fire suppression systems.
For homeowners rebuilding after major California fires, tect creates replacement homes as permanent upgrades with resilient assemblies, dedicated fire water, suppression strategies, and insurance-aligned documentation.
High-performance custom homes combine refined design with efficient envelopes, all-electric systems, solar and battery integration, healthy air strategies, water conservation, and lower long-term operating costs.
tect supports sophisticated $10M+ estate projects with integrated fire, water, energy, structural, envelope, and mechanical systems coordinated through advanced owner-side delivery methods.
Mountain, lakefront, and vacation homes are engineered for wildfire exposure, snow loads, remote monitoring, limited fire access, and on-site water supply in Tahoe and Sierra environments.

We begin with the homeowner’s goals, site conditions, hazard profile, budget range, and delivery preference. For Northern California WUI properties, this includes wildfire exposure, access, water supply, smoke, seismicity, and insurance documentation priorities.
tect gives homeowners a more coordinated, performance-driven way to build.
Architecture, engineering, construction, permits, and manufacturers align early for fewer gaps and better decisions.
Northern California wildfire, smoke, seismic, and insurance realities inform every major system choice.
TectApp™ connects projects with manufacturers behind the home’s structure, envelope, water, and systems.
Homes are designed as 100+ year upgrades for safety, comfort, durability, and lower lifecycle cost.
Architect-led guidance for resilient custom home decisions in California.

AIA
Bob Habian, AIA, is a licensed architect and a driving force behind Tect's mission to deliver 100+ year homes built to perform across structure, systems, and envelope. Serving homeowners in Pacific Palisades and surrounding high-risk areas, Bob brings deep expertise in resilient design, system integration, and construction coordination. His work is rooted in a belief that homes should be permanent upgrades — engineered to withstand fire, flood, and earthquake exposure while minimizing long-term maintenance costs. Bob leads Tect's fully aligned approach, connecting clients with the TectApp community of 70+ building product manufacturers to ensure the right expertise is involved from concept through construction. His commitment is to homes that are not only durable and safe but built forward for generations to come.
tect integrates architecture, engineering, construction coordination, manufacturer input, permit strategy, and system documentation much earlier than a conventional builder typically does. Instead of selecting products late or solving conflicts in the field, tect coordinates the home’s structure, envelope, roofing, mechanical systems, water, fire suppression, and resilience strategy as one performance system.
